The Serra Project is currently seeking a Social Worker to provide in-home supportive services in Los Angeles County.
POSITION INFORMATION
The Social Worker:
- Provides in-home supportive services to individuals and families infected and affected with HIV/AIDS
- Coordinates participant’s social and medical services to ensure continuity of care
- Educates participants regarding a variety of housing issues and assists in mediating the landlord/tenant relationship
- Provides appropriate clinical interventions for those struggling with drug abuse, mental illness, HIV-diagnosis, and other issues
- Conducts outreach to a variety of agencies regarding services offered
- Maintains participant records and collects all required documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must:
- Possess a Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrate an ability to work with special populations, preferably in the areas of homelessness, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and chemical dependency
- Previous experience with housing and housing related issues a plus
- Be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Clear a background check
- Hold a valid class ‘C’ driver’s license and current automobile insurance
- Be able to drive to various locations throughout Los Angeles County
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
COMPENSATION
- The salary range for this position is $40,000-$45,000
- Medical, dental and vision insurance
- Vacation, sick time, and holidays
- Clinical supervision for individuals seeking licensure
